SPRING 2016
News from Team Telemachus
I want to pass on important news regarding our Telemachus team. First is to let you know Lisa Michalski, who has so wonderfully served as our COO since August, will be winding down her role by the end of May. I have been blessed to have Lisa as a partner bringing extraordinary capability, experience, wisdom and deep faith. She organized and executed what many said was our best annual gathering last October, and subsequently conducted a “listening tour” during which she interviewed 25 Telemachi and senior mentors around the country about their Telemachus experiences, perceptions and expectations. Lisa’s report on her findings has been invaluable to me and the Board in honing our mission, vision and strategy (which will be conveyed to you in the near future). We are grateful knowing that Lisa and her husband Paul will continue as active members of the Telemachus community. Please join me in thanking Lisa for her many contributions.
I am excited to report that Virginia Sterling will be joining me to assume Lisa’s responsibilities once she winds down her current role with Hearst Corporation at the end of June. Virginia has been an active participant in Telemachus for four years and credits this experience for positively impacting every area of her life. She brings an infectious passion and energy and her former colleagues praise her as a highly capable manager with exceptional people skills. Virginia, along with five-year old daughter Savannah and (very) significant other Richard Fitzgerald, will be moving to the Greenwich area from NYC this summer.
Please also join me in thanking Mariette Chao for her many contributions serving as our Administrator over the last six months. Mariette finishes her Masters program at NYU in May, at which point she will join Family & Children’s Agency in Norwalk. We look forward to Mariette and her husband Kevin continuing as part of our community. Kevin was our photographer at T5 and produced the beautiful video of our time at Boca Grande (see below).
I am also delighted to report that Heidi Geyer will be expanding her current role managing our finances and reporting to take on more administrative duties, including helping to execute T6 in October. Heidi and her husband Bryce moved last year to the Bay Area where she is working part-time in an accounting firm.
